This Sunday at The Table

Our Sunday Gatherings begin at 11 AM.  We gather in the Lounge in the building known as the “Church House” at First Lutheran Church in Downtown Fullerton.  The "Church House" is located next to the parking lot just behind the main church building.  The Lounge is down the hall right after the food pantry rooms.  This Sunday October 22nd our theme will be “Word Alone” as we continue to celebrate the 500th anniversary of the Reformation. Our text will be Jeremiah 31:31-34.  All are welcome to join us for a Holy Conversation!

Día de Los Muertos

On Sunday October 29th we will gather for this year Día de los Muertos (The Day of the Dead) Celebration.  Día de los Muertos is a joyous occasion when the memory of ancestors, loved ones, and the continuity of life is celebrated.  As part of this celebration all are invited to bring special remembrances of loved ones, who have passed from this life and now rest in the gracious and loving arms of God, to place on a special altar.  Remembrances might include photos, poems, letters, favorite foods or objects that connect us with those loved ones we wish to remember.  There will also be an opportunity to create remembrances before and after the worship service.  Join us for this special worship service as we gather to remember the saints who have gone on before us, our ancestors and our loved ones, those who now rest in the everlasting grace of God.

Campus Ministry in Fullerton

Over the next couple of months we will be engaging in conversation with local college students and interested members from The Table and First Lutheran regarding the possibilities of doing Campus Ministry at Cal State Fullerton and Fullerton College.  Ideas gaining traction so far include inviting students to join us at The Table Sunday Gatherings and Service Opportunities, creating internships with organizations residing in our community center, and the possibility of adding a college night as part of the Caring Hands Food Pantry to serve students whose personal budgets are not adequate to meet some of their basic food needs.  Let Greg know if you are interested in being part of our Campus Ministry effort.

Caring Hands Dinner + Tuesday October 17th

On the third Tuesday of each month First Lutheran Church and The Table are responsible for making and serving the weekly dinner for our friends and neighbors in need. The meal prep begins at 5:00 PM but you can join us whenever you are able.  The event ends around 7:30 PM.

Second Sunday Sandwiches

On the Second Sunday of every month The Table takes a break from our usual worship service to live out the Gospel in service to others!.  We call it “Second Sunday Sandwiches” The event features “Made to Order” sandwiches served to our neighbors in need.   We will begin setting up and preparing food at 11 AM, and we will be serving lunch from 11:30 to 12:30.

This Sunday’s Reading

Jeremiah 31:31-34;

31 The days are surely coming, says the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and the house of Judah. 32It will not be like the covenant that I made with their ancestors when I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt—a covenant that they broke, though I was their husband, says the Lord. 33But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will put my law within them, and I will write it on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. 34No longer shall they teach one another, or say to each other, ‘Know the Lord’, for they shall all know me, from the least of them to the greatest, says the Lord; for I will forgive their iniquity, and remember their sin no more.
