This Sunday at The Table
Join us this Sunday at 11 AM for the Third Sunday in Advent. Our Sunday Gatherings begin at 11 AM. Our Holy Conversation will continue to unpack the season of Advent helping us to anticipate and prepare for the coming of Christ in our world. We gather at First Lutheran Church in Downtown Fullerton in the Lounge in the building known as the “Church House.” The “Church House” is located next to the parking lot just behind the main church building. The Lounge is down the hall right after the food pantry rooms. All are welcome.
This Sunday Afternoon - The Cookie Exchange
On Sunday December 17th at 3 PM we will be joining the members of First Lutheran for a cookie exchange. We will begin with a Potluck meal featuring meatballs which will be provided along with the various side dishes that each of us might bring. Following the meal we will sing Christmas Carols and exchange cookies. (Bring Two dozen and take two dozen home with you) The event will end with Holden Evening Prayer.
Caring Hands Dinner
On the third Tuesday of each month First Lutheran Church and The Table are responsible for making and serving the weekly dinner for our friends and neighbors in need. The meal prep begins at 5:00 PM but you can join us whenever you are able. The event ends around 7:30 PM. Our next Caring Hands Dinner will be Tuesday December 19th.
Campus Ministry in Fullerton
Over the next couple of months we will be engaging in conversation with local college students and interested members from The Table and First Lutheran regarding the possibilities of doing Campus Ministry at Cal State Fullerton and Fullerton College. Ideas gaining traction so far include inviting students to join us at The Table Sunday Gatherings and Service Opportunities, creating internships with organizations residing in our community center, and the possibility of adding a college night as part of the Caring Hands Food Pantry to serve students whose personal budgets are not adequate to meet some of their basic food needs. Let Greg know if you are interested in being part of our Campus Ministry effort.

This Sunday’s Reading
46 And Mary said, ‘My soul magnifies the Lord, 47 and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior, 48 for he has looked with favor on the lowliness of his servant. Surely, from now on all generations will call me blessed; 49 for the Mighty One has done great things for me, and holy is his name. 50 His mercy is for those who fear him from generation to generation. 51 He has shown strength with his arm; he has scattered the proud in the thoughts of their hearts. 52 He has brought down the powerful from their thrones, and lifted up the lowly; 53 he has filled the hungry with good things, and sent the rich away empty. 54 He has helped his servant Israel, in remembrance of his mercy, 55 according to the promise he made to our ancestors, to Abraham and to his descendants for ever.’
