This Sunday at The Table + Second Sunday Sandwiches

On the Second Sunday of the Month we gather for service.  And this Sunday January 14th is the second Sunday of the month!  We will once again be serving “made to order” sandwiches to our hungry neighbors.  We will begin prepping the food at 11 AM.  We will be preparing the food in the kitchen and serving lunch in the parish hall.

Caring Hands Dinner

On the third Tuesday of each month First Lutheran Church and The Table are responsible for making and serving the weekly dinner for our friends and neighbors in need. Our next meal will be Tuesday January 16th!  The meal prep begins at 5:00 PM but you can join us whenever you are able.  The event ends around 7:30 PM.

Campus Ministry in Fullerton

The Table at First Lutheran is the official ELCA Campus Ministry Site for Cal State Fullerton!  Beginning in Spring 2018 we hope to become a presence on campus offering the experience of a progressive faith community that will provide creative and engaging worship, opportunities for service, and a welcoming and affirming place for members of the LGBTQ community.  If you are interested in becoming part of this new campus ministry effort please contact us!

This Sunday’s Reading

John 1:43-51

43 The next day Jesus decided to go to Galilee. He found Philip and said to him, "Follow me." 44 Now Philip was from Bethsaida, the city of Andrew and Peter. 45 Philip found Nathanael and said to him, "We have found him about whom Moses in the law and also the prophets wrote, Jesus son of Joseph from Nazareth." 46 Nathanael said to him, "Can anything good come out of Nazareth?" Philip said to him, "Come and see." 47 When Jesus saw Nathanael coming toward him, he said of him, "Here is truly an Israelite in whom there is no deceit!" 48 Nathanael asked him, "Where did you get to know me?" Jesus answered, "I saw you under the fig tree before Philip called you." 49 Nathanael replied, "Rabbi, you are the Son of God! You are the King of Israel!" 50 Jesus answered, "Do you believe because I told you that I saw you under the fig tree? You will see greater things than these." 51 And he said to him, "Very truly, I tell you, you will see heaven opened and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of Man.”
